AZN Market Update

The Azerbaijani manat (AZN) remains stable against the US dollar at its 3-month average of 0.5882. Recent ratings and economic forecasts suggest confidence in the manat's outlook, with S&P projecting it will stay pegged to the dollar until 2028 and the Central Bank expecting an 8.2% strengthening this year, which should help reduce inflation.
Against other currencies, the AZN has shown some notable movements. It is slightly stronger against the euro, trading at around 0.5070, which is 1% above its three-month average, indicating steady performance. The currency is also near a 7-day high against the Australian dollar at approximately 0.8406, though slightly below its 3-month average, reflecting recent resilience. Meanwhile, the AZN is at a 7-day high against the Canadian dollar, trading just above 0.8082, and remains stable against the Swiss franc at about 0.4629.
The USD’s recent rebound, driven by geopolitical tensions and safe-haven demand, has kept the dollar broadly strong. However, given AZN’s stability and supportive outlook, the manat remains a relatively steady currency option amid global uncertainties.
