How BER compares banks and FX providers

BER comparison pages place available retail exchange rates, fees and estimated margins alongside the current market mid-rate. This helps show the approximate amount a customer may receive and the potential cost of using a provider for a particular currency, product and transaction amount.

• Rates and costs: Comparisons use the provider rate and fee information available to BER. Where a cost is estimated, it is presented as an estimate rather than a guaranteed quote.
• Data freshness: Exchange rates, fees and product availability can change, and update schedules vary by source. Check the timestamp on the relevant comparison and confirm the final price with the provider.
• Coverage: BER does not compare every provider or every product in every country. Eligibility, currencies, limits and services vary by provider and location.
• Directory order: The provider and bank directories below are alphabetical. Their position on this page is not a ranking by price, quality or commercial value.

Provider inclusion and removal criteria

The directory displays organisations that are marked as live in BER's provider records, are classified as a bank or foreign exchange provider, and have a BER rate page. Inclusion depends on BER having enough identifiable provider, currency or rate information to maintain a useful comparison page. A provider can still appear when a live customer quote is not available for every currency, amount or service.

BER may correct, hide or remove a listing if the organisation stops offering the relevant service, its identity or products materially change, or the available information becomes too incomplete or outdated to support a useful page. A directory listing describes BER's current coverage; it is not an endorsement, guarantee of service or statement that a provider is suitable for a particular customer.

Coverage and limitations

• Products: Coverage can include bank retail exchange rates, international money transfers and travel-money services. The products shown vary by provider and do not represent every account, channel or pricing tier it offers.
• Countries and currencies: BER uses the currencies configured for each provider. Availability, customer eligibility and supported payment routes depend on the provider and the customer's location.
• Transaction amounts: Comparisons may use an amount selected by the visitor, but provider minimums, maximums, verification requirements and preferential pricing can affect the final quote.
• Fees and recipient amounts: BER includes provider fees when they are available to the comparison. Third-party, correspondent-bank, card, receiving-bank and local tax charges may not be known or included.
• Indicative results: Rates, savings, margins and recipient amounts are indicative estimates based on the information available at the displayed time. They are not executable quotes and should be confirmed directly with the provider.
