Barclays currently charges a 2.99% non-sterling transaction fee when a standard debit card is used for foreign purchases or cash withdrawals. The fee can also apply to non-sterling online purchases and refunds.

The underlying card-network conversion is not guaranteed to equal the mid-market rate. Paying a merchant or ATM in sterling can also introduce dynamic currency conversion at the operator's rate.

International payment timing varies by currency, destination, cut-off and receiving bank. Verify payment details carefully because recovery after release is not guaranteed.
