Revolut UK Plans and Subscriptions: Mobile, eSIM and RevPoints Explained

Revolut's UK account tiers, partner subscriptions, Mobile service, travel eSIM and RevPoints are separate benefits with different prices, terms and travel uses.

Revolut now sells several services that can all look like subscriptions inside the same app. UK customers can choose a free or paid personal account plan, activate third-party subscriptions included with some tiers, buy travel data through an eSIM, or take out a separate Revolut Mobile contract.

The distinction matters for travellers and people exchanging or sending money internationally. Paying for a higher account tier can change exchange allowances and transfer-fee discounts, while paying for Revolut Mobile mainly buys UK connectivity and a roaming allowance. Neither subscription automatically guarantees the lowest exchange rate or transfer cost.

Four Revolut Products That Are Easy to Confuse

Revolut's UK account plans and telecom products have different purposes and cancellation rules.

What Each Revolut UK Account Plan Costs

Revolut's UK personal plans were priced at the following monthly or annual amounts when checked on 25 July 2026:

Standard: free
Plus: £3.99 a month or £40 a year
Premium: £7.99 a month or £80 a year
Metal: £14.99 a month or £140 a year
Ultra: £55 a month or £540 a year

Paying monthly does not necessarily make a paid account plan a cancel-anytime product. Revolut's paid-plan terms describe a 12-month subscription that renews automatically and say an early termination fee may apply when a customer ends it within the first ten months. Customers should check the downgrade or cancellation amount shown in the app before changing tiers.

The best-value tier depends on which financial benefits the customer will actually use. Revolut's own estimated benefit values combine the retail prices of partner subscriptions and travel benefits with potential savings on transfers, currency exchange, cash withdrawals and other services. That is not the same as a guaranteed saving for every customer.

How Paid Plans Change Currency and Transfer Costs

For UK customers, Standard currently has a combined monthly exchange allowance of £1,000 and Plus has £3,000. Revolut charges a 1% fair-usage fee above the Standard allowance and 0.5% above the Plus allowance. Premium, Metal and Ultra have no fair-usage limit, although Revolut still uses its own variable exchange rate and can apply other exchange fees disclosed in the app.

The published UK plan comparison also lists additional weekend exchange fees of 1% for Standard and 0.5% for Plus, with no additional weekend fee for Premium, Metal or Ultra. Customers converting a meaningful amount should compare that extra cost with the paid-plan subscription rather than upgrading solely because a tier advertises unlimited exchange.

International-payment fee discounts also vary. Revolut's current all-plan fee page lists no discount for Standard or Plus, 20% for Premium, 40% for Metal and no Revolut international-payment fee for Ultra. Intermediary or recipient-bank deductions may still matter unless an eligible pay-all-fees option is selected.

Which Partner Subscriptions Are Included

Revolut advertises access to partner subscriptions on eligible paid tiers, with examples including NordVPN, Perplexity and Tinder. The exact bundle and service level depend on the plan and current UK offer.

Customers should not value every included subscription at its full standalone retail price automatically. A useful test is whether they already pay for the service, would buy the same service level independently, and can cancel their existing subscription without losing prepaid access. They should also check whether an included benefit has a fixed eligibility period or ends when the Revolut plan is downgraded.

Plus is mainly positioned around higher limits and purchase protection, while Premium, Metal and Ultra add progressively broader subscription, travel and financial benefits. The current plan page and in-app comparison should be treated as the final source because partnerships and eligibility can change faster than the core account pricing.

How Revolut Mobile Works in the UK

Revolut Mobile is an eSIM-only prepaid service on a rolling monthly contract. It uses the Vodafone network and is provided by Gigs, with Revolut Ltd acting as Gigs' agent.

The main plan includes unlimited UK data, calls and texts, subject to an acceptable-use policy, with 5G speeds advertised at up to 100 Mbps. It also includes 20GB of data roaming in the EEA and United States.

The detailed allowance is more limited for some voice and text use while travelling. Revolut's help page lists 50 roaming-call minutes, 50 international long-distance minutes and 100 roaming or international text messages for the relevant UK, EEA and US combinations. The destination list can change, so customers should check it in the app before travelling.

Customers can port an existing UK number or choose a new one. Revolut also advertises a NordVPN subscription with the mobile plan and allows customers to use RevPoints, a money balance or a combination of both toward monthly payments.

The £12.50 introductory price applies to customers who switch by 31 July 2026. Revolut says customers joining during that period will keep the introductory price until further notice; customers joining later pay £14.99 a month. Unlike a paid Revolut account tier, Mobile is described as cancel-anytime, with charges continuing only for the remainder of the current month.

Revolut Mobile Versus a Travel eSIM

Revolut Mobile is designed to be a customer's regular UK phone service. A Revolut travel eSIM is a data package for supported destinations and can be bought without moving a UK mobile number.

The Mobile plan may suit a UK resident who wants domestic service and regularly uses its included EEA or US roaming. A separate travel eSIM may be more appropriate for a customer who wants temporary data outside their normal network's roaming area or does not want to change mobile provider.

Neither product changes the exchange rate used when the customer converts pounds for a trip. Travellers should compare the complete foreign-currency quote separately and check whether their Revolut account tier applies a fair-usage or weekend fee.

How RevPoints Fit In

UK RevPoints earn rates vary by account plan. Revolut currently publishes one point for each £10 of eligible spending on Standard and Plus, £4 on Premium, £2 on Metal and £1 on Ultra.

RevPoints can be redeemed in several ways, including airline-mile transfers, selected Stays and Experiences, Revolut Pay discounts, gift cards and eSIM savings. Revolut says the points have no fixed monetary value; the value depends on the redemption selected.

Mobile customers can also choose to apply RevPoints to their monthly telecom payment. The app can use available points first and charge any remaining amount to the selected money balance. This does not make the mobile plan free unless the customer has enough points at the redemption value displayed at checkout.

What UK Customers Should Compare

Add the annual account-plan fee and separate mobile cost before valuing the bundle.
Count only subscriptions and benefits that would otherwise have been purchased.
Check the exchange allowance, weekend pricing and international-transfer discount for the chosen tier.
Compare the final recipient amount rather than the exchange rate or subscription fee alone.
Check mobile roaming destinations, data, call and text limits before travel.
Confirm cancellation charges separately for the 12-month account plan and rolling Mobile contract.
