Van Lanschot Kempen transfer margins

Van Lanschot Kempen publishes a fixed margin in foreign-currency units for consumer transfers. BER uses that schedule with the bank's published purchase rate—the inbound side—to derive the corresponding outbound customer rate where the required margin is available.

The public schedule does not list a THB margin, so BER does not publish an inferred outbound THB rate. BER's percentage margin comparison can also differ slightly from the bank's schedule because the market mid-rate and observation time may differ.

Van Lanschot Kempen foreign-currency transfer questions

Are the rates intended for every Dutch bank customer?

No. The source belongs to Van Lanschot Kempen's private-banking payment service. Eligibility and account conditions should be checked directly with the bank.

Is the published rate final?

No. The public table is indicative. Van Lanschot Kempen says the definitive rate is based on a mid-rate retrieved every 15 minutes on business days between 8am and 4:45pm, includes its fixed margin and is shown when the payment is booked.

How does BER obtain the inbound rate?

The public table is presented as the rate at which the bank purchases foreign currency from the customer, so BER maps it to the inbound side. For currencies in the official fixed-margin schedule, BER reconstructs the outbound side of the customer spread from that purchase rate and the published margin. It does not substitute a market mid-rate or institutional quote.

Why is THB inbound-only?

THB appears in the public purchase-rate table but not in the fixed consumer margin schedule. BER can publish that inbound purchase rate, but without the margin it cannot derive a defensible outbound rate and therefore leaves that direction unavailable.

Do these rates cover cards or cash withdrawals?

No. BER labels them as consumer foreign-currency bank-transfer rates. Card, cash and investment-market conversions are separate products.
